compare

Before going straight with a KISSmetrics vs Mixpanel comparison. Those are two famous digital analytics tools in the market. At Weelytics, we use them both with our clients and integrations, so, we spent a lot of months exploring.

Both tools are users analytics tools, the promise is not to just track traffic and sessions, like Google Analytics for example, but also individual users and actions during those sessions. This is by far one of their biggest advantages and what makes customer engagement oriented websites love them (SaaS and subscription websites).

Now let’s explore the differences.

Mixpanel vs KISSmetrics

Funnels:
As a functionality, Mixpanel and KISSmetrics funnel analysis products are substantially similar. However,

  • Mixpanel: funnel have two available modes, saved and edit. Which makes it easy to trust your data when you are on a saved mode.
  • KISSmetrics: is always on an edit mode which is nice for a continuous analysis but you feel less confidence.

Mobile analytics

  • Mixpanel:  most focused on mobile and offers surveys, A/B testing, push notifications and more. It’s a true mobile analytics suite.
  • Kissmetrics: built for marketers. Its specialty is maintaining user identity across the entire conversion funnel. So you can calculate a ROI for each acquisition channel..

Real-time data

  • Mixpanel: updates real- time data in its dashboards and have come out with Engage, a tool that lets you send behavioral automated emails.
  • Kissmetrics: N/A
